Green card Immigration Medical Exams & Physicals Milpitas, San Jose, Silicon Valley , SF Bay Area CA uscisclinic.com

The USCIS Immigration Medical Exam more info

The USCIS Immigration Medical Exam is a medical examination that is required for certain immigrants to the United States. The exam is conducted by a USCIS-approved civil surgeon and includes a physical examination, a review of the applicant's medical history, and laboratory tests. The purpose of the exam is to determine if the applicant is inadmissible to the United States due to a medical condition or a possible threat to society. The Immigration Medical Exam differs from a general annual physical exam. Per USCIS guidelines, the medical exam focuses on communicable diseases, drug dependency, and other mental or physical conditions that can constitute an applicant to be a threat to society and USCIS inadmissibility criteria  It does not focus on your lipids, blood, diabetes, kidney, etc. diseases.

The immigration medical exam is a crucial part of the green card application process. Under U.S. immigration law, all green card applicants must complete the immigration medical exam to confirm that they are in good health and are fit to live in the United States as permanent residents.

We will guide you through the entire Immigration Medical Examination process and see that you get the tests and consultations that you need. Everyone is different: health, history, age, lifestyle, language, and even country of birth may play a role in what it involves in processing your Medical Examination. In some cases, special waivers may even be needed to fulfill all the requirements of the examination. Your patience and active participation will be the key to completing the process outlined by the United States Citizenship & Immigration Service (USCIS). We have done Immigration Medical Exams for over 24,500 applicants from 130 countries.

We will work with you to get the process completed as quickly, accurately, and with as little expense as possible. All services are fee-based (cash, HSA, and credit cards are accepted) and your initial fee includes the examination, medical history, and the completion of all basic documents. In most instances, if you have health insurance coverage it will cover the cost of any additional immunizations, x-rays, etc. If no coverage, we will guide you to get it done at a low or event at no cost.

For your appointments, please bring your passport and detailed records of your health history, including immunizations and TB status. Please allow an hour for your appointment.

In the immigration medical exam, you can expect:

- A review of your medical history and immunization (vaccine) records
- A physical and mental evaluation
- Drug and alcohol screening
- Tests for various diseases and illnesses (sometimes including an X-ray).

Dr. Neema Malhotra, a Civil Surgeon, and well-trained staff will fill out Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, and give you a sealed envelope with the form inside & electronic copy for your records. You should not open this envelope. You should submit it along with your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, to USCIS.

You must provide accurate medical history & contact information, so we may contact you as the need arises. We respect that you’re getting to the point of having this examination represents a long wait and a lot of work in the immigration process. Please be patient with our staff, and you will find they are qualified and well-intentioned with your interests at heart. We work for you. If a problem does occur let someone know right away and we will do our best to make it right.

What Vaccinations are required by USCIS?

Bring with you any of your Immunization Records to determine what will be needed per USCIS.

If you do not have vaccination records, do not worry. Most of the applicants do not have all the vaccination records. You can do an inexpensive lab test for immunity showing that you have acquired immunity either via vaccination or natural disease. If you do not have immunity, then you can take vaccinations.

  a) Adults: Tdap, MMR, Varicella (Chicken Pox) & Influenza, for age > 2 years b) Children: Must be up to date with a vaccination schedule for their age per CDC guidelines for Hepatitis A and B, Influenza and influenza b (Hib), Measles, Mumps, & Rubella (MMR), Meningococcal, Pneumococcal, Pertussis (whooping cough), Polio, Rotavirus, Tetanus & Diphtheria, Varicella (chicken pox). Vaccine schedules are available at CDC websites or USCIS Vaccines website. or click on our Vaccinations page for easy-to-understand requirements.  You can also consult your provider/physician for an applicable vaccine for your specific needs that depends upon your age, health history, vaccination records, country of origin, etc.  For your convenience; we stock and can give all vaccines in our Clinic or you can get them anywhere such as from your healthcare provider, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Costco, county clinics, etc.

Click> Visit our section for Vaccination Requirements

Click here to View > DETAILED ADULT VACCINATION SCHEDULE.  The detailed Schedule for those under 18 is slightly complex. If your children are currently going to school in the USA, they are likely to be up to date with the vaccination schedules. There is nothing to worry about. Our providers at our USCIS Clinic during your first visit, will review your medical & vaccination history and assess the vaccination gaps for both adults and children and will be happy to guide you for the no or low cost to take these vaccines at pharmacies or public health places.

There is no worry about Childen vaccination. Any school-going child or child born in us or who had a visit to a pediatrician in the last 6 months, the child will be up to date & will require only a minimal vaccine. Our civil surgeon is a board-certified pediatrician and is an expert in children's vaccination.

You will be responsible for paying directly to the lab if you select the lab of your choice; as we are not connected in any way to labs. If we order the labs on your behalf, you will have to prepay the lab charges. We order only the labs you will need. You can download Lab results from the Lab Portal. We will enroll you when we give you lab orders. A typical Lab result is shown below as how to interpret them. You can download here a guide on How to Interpret Lab Results.

A Sample Immigration Lab Report is shown below & how to interpret your lab results.

If results are within range and normal,  usually are shown in GREEN color, which means no further action is required. You can come and get your I-693 completed form. If the results are out of the normal range (abnormal), usually show in RED color, which means that further action is required. If the QF TB Test is positive (Red color), you need an X-ray to rule out active TB. If immunity tests are abnormal ( Red Color), then you need to take that vaccination. If the RPR or Gonrehea test is reactive (abnormal) usually shown in RED color, just call us for the next steps to perform confirmatory tests and discuss options.
