It is part of the requirement by USCIS & CDC to make sure you do not have an active TB infection. Do not worry.

About 10 % of the Asian, African & South American population comes with TB positive. Per USCIS, CDC & local public health requirements, the applicant must do an X-ray of the chest of two views of the lungs to determine if your TB is active or latent (dormant). Only about 1 to 2% of the X-rays show an active TB. You have about a 1 in 500 chance that you may have an active TB. Not to worry much. But if you have it, you need to get treated for your own health sake and the health of others.

The X-ray report signed by a radiologist stating no evidence of TB is included with the I-693 form and sent to USCIS. If TB lesions show an active TB, you will have to undergo treatment & the local county public health department is informed and they will monitor you & treat you.
